2 Sightseeing in Kathmandu

The following day, we will take you sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley. We will only be able to cover the major tourist attraction sights. You will be fascinated by the historical and religious heritage sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Bauddhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and many more.

3 Kathmandu to Bhandar Drive via Jiri

Today, we will drive toward Bhandar through Arniko Highway. We will also pass through the beautiful hill town of Jiri. We will reach Jiri after 6-7 hours of drive, after which we will turn to get Bhandar. Along the way, you will notice many geographical changes and cultural diversities.

4 Bhandar to Sete Trek

Our trek starts with a descent to the Likhu River, which we cross through a steel bridge. After a long walk through many valleys, suspension bridges, dense forests, and cultivations, we will reach the village of Kinja. We will have lunch here and move toward Sete. We will stay overnight in Sete.

5 Sete to Junbesi Trek

Today, we will trek to yet another Sherpa settlement in Junbesi. Our trail will be challenging as we pass through the Lamjura La Pass. The summit of the pass is the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar, so we can see beautiful scenery of the surrounding landscape, green and lush hills.

After passing through rhododendron forests and such, we will reach Junbesi within a few hours of walking.

6 Junbesi to Nunthala Trek

We will start our trek after breakfast in the morning. We will cross the Junbesi river and follow the trail to Khumbu. Furthermore, we will be coming across the Taksindu La to reach the village of Taksindu.

You can explore beautiful views of the mountains throughout the trail. You will also come across a cheese factory located in Taksindu. Once we reach Nunthala, we will spend the night there.

7 Nunthala to Bupsa

With a steep descent from Nunthala at the beginning of the trek, we will continue to the Dudh Koshi river bridge. Then, we will traverse past the settlement of Jubling, the Rai village, to the viewpoint of Khumbila past the dense forests and terraced fields.

Crossing the village of Kari Khola, we will ascend a steep hill to reach Bupsa. We will be spending overnight here.

8 Bupsa to Chheplung

We will cross the bridge at Kharte and ascend the trail leading toward Kari La. Coming across beautiful forests like oak, bamboo, pine, and birch, we will pass another stream through a bridge. After many uphills and downhills, we will reach Chheplung through Lukla.

9 Chheplung to Namche Bazaar

After a refreshing breakfast, we’ll begin our trek to the famous Namche Bazaar the following sunrise. Although we will start our walk on a flat surface, we will gradually trek the uphill valley, followed by a downhill. Then, we’ll walk along the path through lovely pine forests and the Dudh Koshi river to Monjo Village.

After arriving at Everest National Park’s entrance, we’ll help you register for trekking permits. Here at Monjo, after crossing the suspension Hillary bridge, the highest bridge trekkers pass through, we will trek uphill to Namche Bazaar.

10 Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

This rest day will allow you to acclimate to the altitude of the capital of the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar. Hence, hiking in the same area in a place like Khumjung or a two-hour climb to the Everest View Hotel (3880 m) would be an excellent beginning to adapt your body to a higher altitude.

Similarly, you’ll find many fellow tourists and can shop for unique souvenirs like pashmina, wool, and handmade accessories. You can even visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, where you can explore the cultural significance of people living in the region along with famous Sherpa mountaineering history.

11 Trek from Namche to Tengboche

Today, the trek’s commencement is flat, with a bit uphill to Kayangjuma. Next, the descent starts from where we tend to cross the river, and by the end of the day, we will climb for about two and half hours to Tengboche. Throughout the trek to Phungi Thanga, you will see many heavenly sceneries on the way with several climbs and descents.

Then, the same way is tracked by a long, steep, and little challenging climb to Tengboche. Moreover, this region has the biggest and most ancient monastery in the Khumbu region, one of the most-visited destinations. This adventurous trek will pass the entire daytime, so we’ll stay for the night here.

12 Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche

On this day, the hiking will initially start with a direct descent, but gradually we will climb upwards. After ascending for a while, we will pass through a 5-7 minutes landslide area.

Again, after traveling through the Imja Khola river, we’ll arrive at the Pangboche village, where you can see the breathtaking scenery of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m). Furthermore, Pangboche is the most crucial Sherpas settlement in the Khumbu region. After hiking for a few hours, we’ll arrive at Dingboche, where we’ll spend the night.

13 Acclimatization at Dingboche

Our 12 days tour would make us pretty exhausted, so we’ll have a day’s rest in Dingboche. Your body must also adjust to climate change, pressure, altitude, and surroundings.

Besides, here you can relish the view of nearby peaks: Ama Dablam (6812 m), Makalu (8485 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Kantega (6782m), and Cho Oyu (6160 m). You’ll also have a lot of fun adjusting to the weather and altitude.

14 Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche

We’ll resume our journey the following morning after breakfast. Walking through the snow-capped ridges of Cholatse and Tabuchi, we will climb steeply on the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. During the trek, we will find memorials of Sherpa climbers who lost their lives mounting the beautiful peaks.

Then, after a few hours of strolling through the valley, we’ll reach our destination for the day, Lobuche, where we’ll stay for the night.

15 Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp

Finally, after all your tribulations and dedication for many days, you’ll come across your dream destination, the Everest Base Camp, on the ninth day. However, foremost, you must cross the Khumbu Glacier, reaching Gorakshep. After this, the trip gets more challenging; you’ll be walking through rocky landscapes and icefalls.

Nevertheless, it will be worth it once you see the spectacular views of the mountain range from the Everest Base Camp. Afterward, we’ll descend to Gorakshep to spend the fantastic and relaxing cold night.

16 Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar and Pheriche Descent

We will start our trek with an early morning climb, after which we will reach Kala Patthar, which means black rock in Nepali, within 2 – 3 hours of ascent. When you get there, you’ll see stunning sceneries of the mountain habitat everywhere you peek.

Behind you will be the view of the stunning Khumbu Glacier, while overhead will be the incredible views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Changtse, and Mt. Lhotse. Again, we’ll be staying for the night after descending our way around to Pheriche.

17 Pheriche to Namche

Returning from our incredible Everest Trekking, our journey will be full of ups and downs as we climb down to Namche Bazaar. On our way, we’ll have lunch at Tengboche and cross the rhododendron forest again before reaching Namche Bazaar, where we’ll stay overnight.

If you haven’t gotten the souvenirs yet, this night will be your opportunity to shop for yourself and your adored ones back home.

18 Namche to Phakding Descent and Lukla Celebration Night

On our return, the trek is downhill to Hillary suspension bridge, from where we will pass through the dense pine forest. The trail then descends to Lukla, where we will reach observing the Dudh Koshi river.

After passing through the dense forest again, experiencing more of the park’s flora and fauna, and crossing several villages, we will reach Lukla. Finally, we’ll celebrate our successful and amusing Everest Base Camp trek. This day marks your victorious trek along with your trekking crew members.

19 Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

After spending the victorious night the following day, you’ll return to Kathmandu on the thirteenth day of your trek. Again, after around 40 minutes flight back to Kathmandu, you’ll arrive at your comfortable hotel, where you can rest for the day or take a quick nap.

Similarly, you can also take your time to explore the city on the last day. We’ll have a goodbye dinner at night with the whole trekking group.

20 Departure from Kathmandu

Our Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek ends on the last day. So, you’ll be returning home after a long, exhausting, and excellent trek. Today, we’ll drive you to the Tribhuwan International Airport regarding your scheduled flight.

At last, we will say our goodbyes and wish you well in your upcoming life experiences. You’ll be returning with excellent adventure memories with your crew and beautiful souvenirs of the place.
