Overview

Everest Heritage Trek is one of the fascinating short trips to Everest. It takes you to the Khumbu region of Nepal and gives an insight into the Roof of the world, Mt. Everest (8,848 m). Moreover, this region is one of Nepal’s most popular trekking destinations, with the world’s highest passes. 

The Sherpa culture is a must-explore. This tour is for nine days, including your arrival and departure. We will begin our journey on a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and end with the same returning flight back to Kathmandu. Furthermore, you will explore the Namche Bazaar area.

Itinerary

1 Arrival in Kathmandu

On your first day, we will receive you at the Tribhuwan International Airport in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. We heartily welcome you to our beautiful country. After a brief introduction with our team members, we will drop you at your cozy hotel, where you’ll spend the night.

2 Kathmandu city tour ( Boudhanath, Pashupatinath temple, monkey temple )

The following day, we will take you sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley. We will only be able to cover the major tourist attractions sights. You will be fascinated by the historical and religious heritage sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Bauddhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and many more.

3 Fly to lukla & trek to Phakding (3 hrs) walk

The next day, after resting for the night, you’ll have an early flight to Lukla, which takes around 40 minutes to reach. Moreover, you’ll encounter a stunning sight of the mountain region of Nepal on your way. 

After the safe and adventurous flight, we’ll begin our trek to Phakding, coming across many local villages with spectacular views of the highest peaks. We’ll be staying for the night in Phakding, enjoying the mountain civilizations and the delicacy of delicious Nepali food.

4 Trek to Namche Bazar (6 hrs) walk

After a refreshing breakfast, we’ll begin our trek to the famous Namche Bazaar the following sunrise. Although we will start our walk on a flat surface, we will gradually trek the uphill valley, followed by a downhill. Then, we’ll walk along the path through lovely pine forests and the Dudh Koshi river to Monjo Village. 

After arriving at Everest National Park’s entrance, we’ll help you register for trekking permits. Here at Monjo, after crossing the suspension Hillary bridge, the highest bridge trekkers pass through, we will trek uphill for around 2:30 hrs to Namche Bazaar.

Here, we’ll see Mt. Everest’s gorgeous, frosty scenery from a distance once we climb Namche Bazaar. We’ll spend the night and relax after a long tiring day.

5 Acclimatization day - Explore Khumjung village & Everest viewpoint ( Everest view hotel ) 4-5 hrs walk.

Your final destination arrives on the fifth day of your trip. Starting from Namche Bazaar, we will walk to Everest View Hotel, which should take about 2 – 3 hours if we stop at the National Park Museum.

Walking across the hill to the hotel, we may see yaks grazing nearby or a Himalayan Tahr (wild goat) balancing perfectly on the ridges. You cannot know the hotel until you are almost there as it is hidden behind a cliff, surrounded by tall fir trees. Once you have reached the Everest View Hotel, the hotel will serve you a refreshing glass of hot lemon with honey, which you can enjoy with the spectacular view of the Everest range.

Now you can relax in your room, enjoy the view, and then take a quick walk to explore. We will stay overnight at our destination.

6 Hike back to Phakding (5 hrs) walk

We will now begin our return journey starting with our return to Phakding. The returning trail is as adventurous as the beginning trail, and we will walk through dense rhododendrons and descend many rocky pathways. Once we reach Phakding, you can rest easy for the night.

7 Hike to Lukla ( Gateway to mt. Everest (3-4 hrs) walk.

We will descend towards Lukla, where we will start our trekking journey. The trail takes 7 hrs to reach Lukla from Namche Bazaar, and you can explore the mountain region with its astounding views. Once we get to Lukla, we will rest.

8 Fly to Kathmandu - rest, relax & easy day ( Farewell dinner )

Finally, we will fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla. The flight will be scenic as you explore the Himalayas of Nepal from the air. It will take us 35-40 mins to reach Kathmandu, and you can rest for the day in your comfy hotel room. We will have a celebratory farewell dinner with our trekking crew at night.

9 Departure day

Our incredible journey to Everest comes to an end on this day. You will have created some fun memories with us and taken beautiful souvenirs. Our representative will drop you at the airport and bid you farewell.
