Itinerary

1 Arrival at Kathmandu City

On the first day of your trip, you arrive at Kathmandu City. We will receive you from Tribhuwan International Airport. From here, we will drop you at your comfy hotel, where you can get refreshed. 

2 Sightseeing in Kathmandu

The following day, we will take you sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley. We will only be able to cover the major tourist attraction sights. You will be fascinated by the historical and religious heritage sites like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Bauddhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and many more

3 Kathmandu to Lukla Flight and Phakding Trek

The first thing in the morning, we will set off to the flight taking us to Lukla. It will take around 35-40 minutes to reach. During the flight, you can see fascinating views of the mountain and hilly regions of Nepal. 

Once we arrive in Lukla, we will start our trek toward Phakding. The trail is downhill, and we come across many small towns and forests on our way. We will stay for the night in Phakding.

4 Phakding to Namche Bazaar Trek

On this day, we will start our trek to Namche Bazaar after breakfast. This day might seem challenging to you as the trails are steep ascents. We will also come across Sagarmatha National Park, where we will receive our trekking permits and such. 

Once we pass through Hillary Suspension Bridge, the trek gets more accessible and more comfortable. We will start seeing glimpses of Mt. Everest once we get closer to Namche Bazaar. You will be amazed to see the beautiful town of Namche Bazaar. 

 

5 Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

We will take a day off on the fifth day. Your body isn’t used to the altitude, so it will take a day to adjust to the climate, height, and weather at Namche Bazaar. You can explore the town and go for short hikes. 

6 Namche Bazaar to Phortse Thanga Trek

In the early morning, after breakfast, we will start our trek towards Phortse Thanga. We will climb through Khumjung Hill and descend east via a vast valley to Dudh Koshi. We will also come across Mohang, the birthplace of the reincarnated Lama of Tibet’s Rongbuk Monastery. Then, we descend to Phortse Thanga. 

7 Phortse Thanga to Machhermo Trek

Today, we will climb to Machhermo, which goes uphill from Phortse Thanga. We come across a rhododendron forest and a waterfall to reach Tongba Village. Similarly, we will cross many villages like Dole, Labarma, and Luza. We will spend the overnight there

8 Machhermo to Gokyo Trek

On the eighth day, we will climb a ridge, from where we can get a fantastic look down the Kangtaiga Valley and up to Mt. Cho Oyu (8, 153 m). We might even have to tackle an avalanche as we trek through Phangkha. Then, we descend to the riverside and ascend to the Ngazumpa Glacier’s terminal moraine. 

After crossing an iron bridge, Longpongo (4,690 m), we will come across the first lake. We can see lama’s footprints on a stone at this point. Next, we arrive at the second lake, Tobuche Tsho, followed by the third lake, Dudh Pokhari. The Gokyo village is nearby the lake, so that we will take a short walk around the lake after refreshment. 

9 Hike to Gokyo Ri and Trek to the Fifth Lake

In the early morning, we will start our hike to Gokyo Ri. This viewpoint will mesmerize you with the beautiful views of mountains like Mt. Makalu, Everest, Choyou, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Amadablam, Cholatse, Kwangde, and many more in 360 degrees. 

Following that, we will move towards the fifth lake, which shows the magnificent views of Mt. Everest from a completely different angle. 

10 Trek to Thagnak

We will trek toward the other side of the mountain, early in the morning, after breakfast. Passing through the Ngazumpa Glacier, we will reach Thagnak. Today, our trek will be cut short, and we will have a whole afternoon to rest and acclimatize. 

 

11 Thagnak to Chola Pass and Dzong La

Our trek is going to get very challenging at this point. The trail is steeper, and difficulties come along with it. When we arrive at the top of Cho La pass, we can see many prayer flags and a frozen lake. We can see Mt. Ama Dablam towards the south range of mountains. 

Crossing through crevasses, we will reach Dzong Village, where we can see the astounding views of Mt. Cholatse, Ama Dablam, and Lobuche mountains, as well as Pheriche Village.

12 Dzong La to Lobuche Trek

Today’s highlights are Chola Tsho Lake, Chola Khola, and Khumbu Glacier. At one point, our trail splits into two; here, we will go through the left-hand path. We can see Awi Peak as we walk along our chosen route. 

We can also see a stupa and tombstones from a distance before we descend to the village. We will stay overnight here. 

 

13 Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp

Finally, after all your tribulations and dedication for eight days straight, you’ll come across your dream destination, the Everest Base Camp, on the ninth day. However, foremost, you must cross the Khumbu Glacier, reaching Gorakshep. After this, the trip gets more challenging; you’ll be walking through rocky landscapes and icefalls. 

Nevertheless, it will be worth it once you see the spectacular views of the mountain range from the Everest Base Camp. Afterward, we’ll descend to Gorakshep to spend the fantastic and relaxing cold night.

 

14 Trek from Gorakshep to Kala Patthar and Pheriche Descent

We will start our trek with an early morning climb, after which we will reach Kala Patthar, which means black rock in Nepali. When you get there, you’ll see stunning sceneries of the mountain habitat everywhere you peek. 

Behind you will be the view of the stunning Khumbu Glacier, while overhead will be the incredible views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Changtse, and Mt. Lhotse. Again, we’ll be staying for the night after descending our way around to Pheriche. 

15 Pheriche to Namche

Coming back from our incredible Everest Trekking on the eleventh day, our returning journey will be full of ups and downs as we climb down to Namche Bazaar. On our way, we’ll have lunch at Tengboche and cross the rhododendron forest again before reaching Namche Bazaar, where we’ll stay overnight.

If you haven’t gotten the souvenirs yet, this night will be your opportunity to shop for yourself and your adored ones back home. 

16 Namche to Phakding Descent and Lukla Celebration Night

On our return, the trek is downhill to Hillary suspension bridge, from where we will pass through the dense pine forest. Following, the trail then descends to Lukla, where we will reach observing the Dudh Koshi river. 

Subsequently, after passing through the dense forest again, experiencing more of the park’s flora and fauna and crossing several villages. Finally, we’ll glorify our successful and amusing Everest Base Camp trek. This day marks your victorious trek along with your trekking crew members.  

 

17 Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

After spending the victorious night the following day, you’ll return to Kathmandu on the thirteenth day of your trek. Again, after around 40 minutes flight back to Kathmandu, you’ll arrive at your comfortable hotel, where you can rest for the day or take a quick nap. 

Similarly, you can also take your time to explore the city on the last day. We’ll have a goodbye dinner at night with the whole trekking group.

18 Departure from Kathmandu

Our Everest Base Camp Trek ends on the last and 18th day. So, you’ll be returning home after a long, exhausting, and excellent trek. Today, we’ll drive you to the Tribhuwan International Airport regarding your scheduled flight.

At last, we will say our goodbyes and wish you well in your upcoming life experiences. You’ll be returning with excellent adventure memories with your crew and beautiful souvenirs of the place.
